There are many sites that tell you how good Swagbucks is, and you most likely are here just to see where the Swagbucks code is using the swidget here.

So I refrain from repeating all the reasons for joining swagbucks, but if not already a swagbucks member, join to SWAGBUCKS from the swagbucks widget, or swidget as swagbucks call it. I manage to get £25 a month or more in Amazon UK vouchers.

That's $40 to you Yanks reading this, but there is a limit of 5 of the SAME swagbucks prizes per month, so you can only get $25 OF THE SAME PRIZE.

So what most people do that have lots of swagbucks points, they get the $50 if they have MORE than enough points then as many $5 as they have left. If enough for $45 say, then they would then also get a $25 voucher and 2 $5 vouchers that month. (There are NO $10 amazon vouchers, if anyone is that interested, leave a comment asking and I will explain in lots of detail what I think the reasons are).

The most economical use of points is by ordering the $5, as that only costs 450 points whereas the larger denominations waste 1000 points or more as extra cost.

In the case of us in the UK, £25 is 5250 swagbucks, but 5 sets of £5 is only 4250 swagbucks in total.

I am Platinum now, only have 9 under me in my downline (and one of those is an inactive deadweight), yet I now average $5 a WEEK from their, and my, activity on the site.

I have only tested out their Customer Service, and disappointingly found them severely lacking.

However, many people like the site, so ignoring the fact that IF you get a problem, they most likely will do nothing about it, join and give them a try.

I only intend doing the Daily code (Fountain of Youth) and watch videos, like I do for all my paid-to-search type sites.

One other tip, be VERY careful how you type in the email address when registering, or you may end up like me with an unusable account and have to make another one that works with the correct email address.

Then you run the risk they will one day (perhaps on Cashout request maybe) say you have TWO accounts and delete both.

After pocketing the earnings you made for them doing offers, etc.

Also, I just told them today that they spelt Facebook wrongly, and their "thanks" for the heads up was the single word "fixed". No thanks. No, how can I help you with the problem you also mentioned as having still.

Perhaps it was because of my sarky style and mention of such poor quality control and spelling was one means by which scam sites are detected.

This is just an observation about bang-per-bucks, on the sites Cantbeatfree.com and ExcitePoints.com.

Both owned by "J" who pays the fastest I have EVER seen on any paid to or cashback site.

Even faster than TopCashBack.co.uk, that I use for certain transactions, subject to a separate post but let me whet your appetite for seeking out this article by yours-truly (me) by saying that (when I can be bothered) I get PAID £2.06 pence (that is about $3 to you Yanks reading this, pity you cannot join as I would love to introduce you) per advert I place. Maximum 2 ads a week, they seem to be a bit flexible, if you do not take the pi55.

Any road up, back to this erudite article.

If you save 2450 points on CantBeatFree( CBF) you can order a $25 Amazon.COM (Yank) voucher.

That qualifies you as a VIP so subsequent redemptions are for lower amounts.

$5 Amazon or Paypal = 450 points (495 for non VIP)

$10 Amazon or Paypal = 850 points

$20Amazon or Paypal = 1500 points

$25 Amazon or Paypal = 2000 points (2450 for non VIP)

My point I am making here is that the CENTS PER POINTS value is not linear.

The OPTIMAL request is at $20 since each point is worth 1.33 cents.

The $25 rate is 1 point only gets 1.25 cents.

The $10 rate is 1 point gets 1.17 cents

The $5 rate is 1 point gets 1.11 cents.

So put it another way if you wanted to get $100 you would need

20 $5 so 9000 points

10 $10 so 8500 points

5 $20 so 7500 points

4 $25 so 8000 points.

By using the $20 redemption option you save 1500 points from the worse option of doing $5 at a time.

In other words enough for another $20 Amazon or PayPal voucher so making the 9000 points you might have spent get you $120 instead of $100.

Of course, there is a limit of 3 $20 per month, but that is OK if you just keep ordering $60 worth a month and decide if you are going to save the excess points (if lucky enough to be able to get more than you can or want to spend on $60 worth of rewards).

There is a VIP BLACK CARD reward which you can get for 7500 points AS WELL as the 3 $20 rewards, it is equivalent to 5 $20 redemptions.

The VIP black Card is paid out once a month on the 5th of the month for the previous month.

You have to state what card is wanted in an email, Amazon, PayPal, JC PEnney, Walmart, etc, when you redeem.

So, save your points to 7500 and get the black vip redemption is the way to go, then any spare points after that, go for the $20 PayPal or Amazon.

Note that many /some/a few/all of my esteemed readers of this popular Blog (OK I am a sarcy old git I know) may not have an American Amazon account, and do not want to open one up anyway, as the "shipping" (postal to us Brits) costs AND the ruddy Customs and Excise charges make things twice as expensive, or waste more of our money) than the corresponding UK Amazon payment would be worth.

If you see what I mean.

S0, consider it as a "fee" to get subsequent PayPal payments of $20 (or $100 by the black VIP card) and select PayPal from then on, for any redemptions.

You could always sell or barter it to someone that wants one, but the risk is the person you sell it to will not pay you, perhaps.

By using PayPal you can get good-old-PayPal to convert the $100 to our GBP (pounds Sterling as us old-uns call it still).

When I last redeemed from Zoombucks, they gave me a UK Amazon voucher for £6.24 so I would hope the $100 PayPal would not have been far off £60 allowing for PayPal's huge fees.

So to conclude:

Save points and become VIP.

Redeem for a Black VIP Card and select $100 PayPal if possible, then you can spend it many places online including British online merchants (PayPal will automatically convert dollars to pounds if your pound UK balance is not enough to cover a UK transaction.

If any spare dosh, and you insist on getting out the same month (to pay for Christmas online shopping say) then go for the $20 options FIRST.

If after that you are lucky enough to have lots of points spare, go for the $25 option as it is the next best "bang for buck".

Note that Excitepoints is essentially a duplicate site owned by "J" and you can EVEN TRANSFER POINTS FROM EXCITEPOINTS TO CBF once a month. I just did it this month to get enough points to qualify as VIP.

So, if joining one, join the other.

You know it makes sense.

iRazoo often pay 12 iRazoo points per video watched on Gambit, Radium One, Super Rewards and Supersonic.

I calculate that as 2 cents per view.

Yet, on Zoombucks they only seem to pay 1 ZoomBuck per view, so at 1 cent per point that is HALF the iRazoo rate.

However, if from the UK, us Brits would be better off with concentrating our limited available time watching the Zoombucks videos first, as Zoombucks at least converts the $10 Amazon voucher (or $20 the first time you claim minimum limit) into the corresponding £POUNDS for use on your British UK Amazon.co.uk account.

iRazoo still have not cottoned on that if they invite us Brits to join them, they should allow us to buy UK Amazon vouchers, not the waste of time and money $5 Amazon..COM site ones.

If you have ever tried to buy something on the Yank Amazon site, you will know just how much we are messed around, and if you eventually manage to find something the Yanks will send to us, they charge the Earth for Postage (shipping as the Yanks call it, even if posting inland. I would like to see what ship their postal services use that sails on the land, besides a sand-yacht that is!!!)

Swagbucks pays us £5 Amazon.CO.UK vouchers for 849 SwagBucks. Yes, do not ask why they do not make it a nice even 850 SB, but I suppose after buying 850 sets of vouchers you may like the fact you can buy another one for 849 SB from the 1 point saving!!! (Yes I am being specious).

The video seems to be only 1 SB per view, usually the same old suspects as shown on iRazoo and Zoombucks.

At 1/849th of 500 pence (British pence not any on the currency) that makes it (my brain hurts) about three fifths of a pence or about 1 cent per view. Still as mentioned above the logic is, to us BRITS at least, the fact we get UK Amazon vouchers makes it the one to concentrate on first.

If you are a Yank reading this, let me know if you find the term Yank objectionable. Call me Limey if you like. If it is not nice I will stop using the nickname from now on. We prefer Brits, so what do you Yanks prefer as a nickname?

At least with videos you can run them in the background while doing other things while listening to the audio commentary.

With searching and rating/commenting you are tied to the computer manually clicking and typing all the time.

Lately Super Rewards seem to have stopped supplying videos so I cannot confirm if they also would award a swagbuck for viewing the same video.

7. GAMES. (10 SB max)
I have seen methods to play games and get the swagbucks that involve using CRUSHER and another game.

They say you have to do "this and that".

All you actually have to do is start the game CRUSHER off (you will have to wait for the ad to run and the PLAY GAME button to go red so you can start the game off).

Play it or let it run out, you get a 1000 score by default if you just let it run and it times out itself naturally. Then click the "Back to Games Details" on the toolbar at the top.

Select CRUSHER again, start it, do what you want until it times out then click the "Back to Games Details" again.

This time you should see a "You have won 2 Swagbucks".

Personally I like Crusher so I actually play it instead of leaving it alone, it is addictive.

I have already been paid ELEVEN sets of $5 Amazon voucher, at least one a month.

I have suggested they add the ability for us to get £5 amazon vouchers as well.

Being as how comes they are inviting us Brits to join their Yank-Centric site.

They do take a while to send the voucher, over a month from claiming, but they are working to improve this as it is the major cause for members to complain.

As of 25/9/2011 iRazoo have CANCELLED THE 150 POINTS A DAY. I am waiting to replace the comment/rate paragraph with the VIDEO opportunity that they say they are implementing.
(VOID NOW AS AT 25/9/2011 - You can get at least 150 points a day from searching for 5 different search terms and comment and rate yes/no for 3 of the results each time to get 10 points each rate/comment action.

3000 points a month is easy to get if you do it most days, each $5 amazon e-voucher costs 3000 points.

If you are willing to spend the time it takes to rate and comment 15 times, and answering 15 Captchas, every day then you could get 4500 points (worth 1.5 Amazon $5 vouchers). So every second month you could order two $5 vouchers, not one. - END VOIDED SECTION).

Useful for sending to mates that cannot be bothered to join up to cashback sites but want to buy something on the Internet anyway.

Resident Evil 4

Nearly the end of the weekend, just finished the Resident Evil 4 main game for a third time, using the "infinite rocket launcher" which I bought for a million Pesetas (ptas) after the second round, and a "Blacktail" 9mm magnum gun upgraded to maximum power the first round of the game.

Having done the Separate Ways "Ada" variation 3 times as well, and the dedicated Ada scenario as well, plus the Mercenary section (kill as many zombies as possible in a fixed time) I am going to have to stop, as even I recognise borderline compulsive behaviour.

I only did the main game until 0130 this morning to get the 1 million Pesetas needed to get what is called the "Chicago Typewriter", otherwise known as a Thomsons Sub Machine gun, for my 2 sons, who just loved using the "infinite rocket launcher" when I got it for them.(Well that is my excuse to my wife and I am sticking to it).

The characteristic of both the rocket launcher and sub machine gun is obviously the infinite number of rounds of ammunition.

The version I play(ed) is the WII version. The remote control unit uses button "A" on the top to fire, instead of the perhaps more natural trigger like button "B" underneath, but you soon get used to it and it does not spoil the game.

Perhaps I should be ashamed that shooting Zombies' heads off with one clean shot is immensely satisfying sense of accomplishment. And yet it is.

The game has a high rating, and creeping up the stairs at 0130 in the dark to go to bed later than I should have (yes my wife IS the Boss) can be a bit tense after some hours nearly getting wiped out by all kinds of horrors in the game, so bear that in mind if playing when young kids are around that can see you play the game.

If anyone wants some tips for playing, there are some parts that took me a day to get past, read on.

If anything is useful, feel free to reproduce it, pointing people to this Blog would be a nice gesture, but not a legal requirement. I guess that means this post can be considered as copyright free within reason. Obviously if you pinch it and say you wrote it that is not allowed, so I do not expect to see what I have written appear on Ciao and Dooyooo, MySpace etc, under someone elses name.

This is not in chronological or logical play order, but snippets of information and advice about things that caught my attention.

1. There is a point in the game when Lord Salazar hybridises (willingly) with a Plaga derived variation of the monsters that the Umbrella Organisation have created and your task is to kill it to rescue the tart, sorry, I mean damsel in distress.

Lord Salazar is(or was, after the hybridisation makes him a huge fearsome and deadly monster) what is euphemistically called a "little person", or what we Anglo Saxon Brits who call a spade a spade and not a digging implement, call a dwarf, or the more unkind derogatory term "midget". I mention that as I regularly enjoy viewing a program about a family of short stature people called "Little People" and note that they use the term dwarf themselves, but hate the term midget.

Any road up again, back to the point.

If you hide at either of the 2 sides of the platform and try to shoot the creature's eye (which I eventually found by trial and error was the only way to get at the Salazar part of the hybrid) then you are constantly having to battle the huge tentacles that periodically burst into life and damage you a lot, whereas if you shoot from the middle of the platform in front of the head, if you do not kill it eventually quick enough, the mouth will get you and there is no escape (cut scene triggers off and you can not run away or shoot or do anything, just die).

I would use a "Stinger" shotgun and make sure it is upgraded to full firepower and speed of reloading, capacity of the magazine and anything else you can upgrade.

Shoot the eye as many times as needed to get the cut scene of the parasitic Salazar and then shoot it as quickly as possible.

Bowleaze Cove in Weymouth, Dorset

Courtesy of my stepdaughter's laptop, and Waterside Holiday and Spa Park's new addition of a wireless hotspot in each caravan, here is/are the latest musing(s).

Still hate the carnies in Bowleaze Cove, the management there could do themselves and their profit margin a favour and send some staff on a Customer Care course or two at any convenient local Education Establishment.

Any organisation that allows its staff to call customers "idiots" when (or because) they are handing over large wodges of money for "winnings", alternatively known as JUNK, deserves to go bankrupt.

Unfortunately the apparent owner or boss is the one I had to remonstrate about his rudeness and lack of customer skills when interacting with a husband, wife and kids out to enjoy themselves on the dodgems, TEN years ago.

So, despite nothing changed then, the b'stards are still going strong.

A little observation I made, the large bouncy slide castle would make good target practise for any of my Al Qaeda readers practising their antisocial religious bullying of the Western world. There is a convenient hill nearby from which to practise their sniper skills.

Or for that matter, the increasing number of surly selfish self centered Yobs that blight this country and who carry all kinds of weapons including airguns with seeming impunity.

Not that I am suggesting that anyone should do so, just surprised nobody has so far.

By the way, Waterside is a lovely caravan site, far better than the next door Haven site that we used to stay at every year, until we finally had enough of all their faults and management attitude and tried out Waterside 3 years ago.

Yes it is irritating, but not as much as the older ones where the bloke shouts out the name in an extremely annoyingly load voice.

Something new to be irritated about.

The house shape comes up at the beginning with

(The dots are only to stop this ruddy irritating Blog software from compressing the spaces, although I suppose I should use non-breakablespace & nbsp;, but stuff it, I cannot be bothered...)

I owe it to the agile brain of my eldest son to have noticed that they spell Stainless Steel as Stainless Steal.

I leave it to the few readers of this Blog, to look more closely at the ad next time they notice it, and ask if they trust their surfaces and skin to an organisation that allows an ad agency such a "schoolboy howler".

I suspect some creative genius is relying too heavily on the wonder that is Microsoft Word spell checker!

Nothing like a human editor to give the final "once over" to an "utterance".

If they had a panel of test viewers (focus group of half a dozen would have done) then they might not be open to ridicule, however minor and insignificant this minor spelling mistake is.

One final thing, the Guardian carried a warning in 2005 about the corrosiveness of this stuff (Google it)

My son (the same one that noticed this error) said that the pH (potential Hydrogen concentration, a negative index of the logarithm to base 10 of the concentration of H+ [hydrogen ions, or more exactly hydroxonium ions......and so on]) was 2, when they tested it amongst other things at school.

Just got through putting up my first BloggerWave paid-per-post yesterday and blow me if I am now (at last) accepted into PayPerPost.com

Unfortunately you are not allowed to have a paid posting one after the other, what they did not make that clear when collecting the paid ad code is, do they mean any old paid posting, or only ones from them.

No matter, it is easy enough to write about "stuff" in between, and in fact it is quite fun.

For example,to answer the question above, and save any readers of this Magnum Opus the time to search the Terms where I finally found it, here is a section reproduced here (without permission, which I have reasonable cause to take as assumed OK, besides, copyright allows quotation of part of a copyright work for literary comment and analysis, which is what this masterpiece I am writing qualifies for, of course!):

While looking at the terms I also saw the next 2 paragraphs, most interesting:

After any break in blog activity of seven plus (7+) days, interim posts, that is, posts between Opportunity-related posts, submitted on the same day as your paid Opportunity-related posts will not count towards this requirement.

Now I interpret that as meaning that since I have been knocking up the odd comment or two on Life (as we know it, Captain Kirk) within the aforementioned time slot, I can in fact finish this post, and add the paid opportunity from PPP (PayPerPost.com).

I expect I will find out soon enough if I am wrong, in which case as an editor (webmaster of www.websitesediting.net) I will gladly assist in making the terms a little more clear.

Third paragraph says:

Private Posts. Interim posts must not be labeled "Private" or locked out. Interim posts must also be of a reasonable length, at least one (1) paragraph, three (3) to five (5) sentences. If your blog's interim posts lack quality PayPerPost may terminate your account.

Whoops, that's stuffed me then!

By the way, and this has nothing to do with anything other than the emoticon, I noticed the delightful Terms treatment of the number of sentences:-
" three (3)"

If you rearrange it as ()3 by accidentally missing SHIFTING the ")" key you could say it is an emoticon indicating one looking down on a well endowed female (you cannot see the feet for obvious reasons).

Or not (can't start......) as the case may be.

Just been browsing around, saw this "old friend" is still around. Stormpay

I advise you to do the same!!!!

I suppose I should say for fairness (more than the fairness Stormpay have shown others to date) that I personally (tautology) had all money I was owed paid to me by cheque (check) whenever I asked for it in the past, but then I had the sense not to pay any of the 12daily style scams for anything using any payment processor or credit card, and I never gave Stormpay any bank details or credit card details.

When they introduced $1 a month deduction for whatever specious reason they came up with at the time, in a sneaky way, I cancelled my account, having only
about $1 left, earned from reading their stupid time wasting in-house "paid to read adverts". I only got about $1 a month from the few ads they let me see, and then they intended taking the $1 if I still had it in the account and had not spent it. The first time they did that I resigned. Essentially you were reading their
ads for free, while they charged the advertisers (fellow Stormpay customers) a fee for each ad clicked which was supposed to go to us.

Of course banks and others have a right to charge a fee for services, whichever services they want to, it is a "free country" but, party of the second part, it is also our rights to go elsewhere if we do not like it, and I suggest that others remember that and do likewise.

I suggest you do not start an account with them if you do not already have an account. If you do start an account, do not supply bank or credit card
details. If you do, on your head be it, you have been warned!

Firebox have created videos of some of the products they sell, with the ability to add your Affiliate Future or Affiliate Window ID so any sales get credited to you.

They say the videos increase sales a lot, and having seen the indoor helicopter and miniature planes flying around in their office, I can see why, I am tempted to buy some for my kids (well me as well really).

They have a video of their "stealth umbrella" which is a bit long, but amusing. You can see the guy struggling to keep a grip at over 130 Kilometers an hour in the wind machine, yet he comes out of it laughing, clearly enjoying the experience. The umbrella actually survived intact, I was surprised and impressed.

One point of interest to us affiliates on a hosting budget, Firebox host the video from their own servers, so you do not need to pay extra for bandwidth used in streaming or downloading.

I saw this on a site I belong to. For all you affiliates out there, this might be the solution to the problems with tracking cookies being blocked by all and sundry, even when they are used legitimately and honestly.

Adsense sees sense

Nice to see Google lightening up a bit, I remember the hard time they gave me because I did not own Yahoo!!!

Surprised they do not want us to sign an affidavit to say we are allowed to put stuff on these blogs, since obviously we do not own blogspot.com either!

Any road up, one piece of advertising info I give from vast experience of over 5 years wasted on the Internet, DO NOT USE PAID-TO-SURF/PAID-TO-READ/PAID-TO-CLICK/PAID-TO-DO-ANYTHING-TRIVIAL SITES AS ADVERTISING RESOURCES.

They all go belly-up, delete your account, lose your request to run ads, etc. It is not worth the time spent trying to keep your account open by logging in every so often and clicking a few links.

Usually after 30 days of inactivity, or even as low as 15 days, (but then that site vanished not long ago) the scripts automatically delete you, possibly after a grace period of being suspended to give more time for you to realise and rescue the account.

The quality of the visitor/traffic is also debatable, since by definition they are looking to EARN on the Internet, they (by definition almost) tend not to want to spend anything! Hence not much use for sites selling expensive stuff, only of use if promoting something that pays you for recruiting members.

As webmaster of websites editing I have seen countless sites die, and it is a pity, at least some of them were decent webmasters, who just got "tricked" into starting up these paid-to sites, essentially so that the Hosting companies could make money off their foolhardiness.

Of course I am a toss-pot for wasting my time on these sites as well, but then it has been interesting, and I have met some nice people, and I learned a few things about proofreading for American/Canadian, and British sites, there are amusing variations in the use of "English".

(pass me the rubber so I can erase this bit, Johnie!!!)

Any Google Adsense worker seeing this, and finding fault, let me know what I need to alter, and I will do so.

TO SUMMARIZE, AVOID PTR SITES AS ADVERTISING OR EARNING POSSIBILITIES.
They are not worth the time spent, you would be better spending the time researching a niche website and getting traffic to it (more later, on that in a separate blog article).
